B.S.T Mission Statement
B.S.T (Basketball Starts Today) strives to be the leading educator of basketball - both physically and mentally. Our commitment to the education of the game derives solely from our passion for the game and the future of it.
We are educators: who are continuously looking to improve the quality and image of every player that enters any B.S.T basketball program. We want each and every player to not only reach, but exceed their personal and team goals of achievement.
We are innovators/motivators: who seek to help each and every player of all skill levels to achieve their highest possible potential.
We are committed: as basketball professionals to being a link in the ever-developing chain of basketball education. As we grow, we will continuously be looking for ways to further educating and exposing the rapidly flourishing northeast talent pool.
The B.S.T basketball group has the tested and proven experience to ensure the best basketball education possible.
B.S.T Origins
B.S.T originated in 1997 by founder Brett Sellingham. As a store manager for athletic footwear giant FOOTACTION USA, Sellingham needed to come up with a team name for his AND-1 sponsored travel basketball team.
Eleven years later, B.S.T has rapidly flourished into one of New England's leading basketball marketing, promotion and educational companies. Support comes from major sponsors AND-1, FOOTACTION USA, NIKE, NEW BALANCE, GLACEAU-VITAMIN WATER, MODELLS SPORTS, ADIDAS, and many other local companies and organizations. B.S.T is the organizer of one of the largest and most talented premier NCAA/Pro-AM men’s summer leagues in the Northeast - the GATE CITY CLASSIC.
In 2007, Sellingham partnered with Will Flowers, a veteran of Southern New Hampshire University and member of one of the most successful Div. II basketball programs in history. The inception of this business relationship allowed B.S.T to continue to grow and offer New England basketball players the education and opportunities necessary to better themselves and the overall quality of the sport of basketball.
